Hey quirky gang 😍
Happy October 😊, I am currently in my pajamas with a head scarf on and Colgate on my face💩.I was pretty much ready to call it night. Then my laptop stared at me as if it was telling me to type something, so I thought I would talk about something that I have been thinking about a lot lately: being broke.
As a student it’s a term you get so acquainted to it starts to feel like your second cousin. My problem, however, isn’t with brokenness, she’s alright. My problem is with the mindset that tends to surround it. I’m talking about using being broke as an excuse for looking like you just stepped out from under a cardboard bed on a highway or using being broke as an excuse for not eating right or smelling right.
I went thrifting a few weeks ago and bought this dress for K2. You must be thinking, “K2? Girl, please stop lying!”, but I kid you not, I got this dress for K2, which is less than a dollar and I look pretty, don’t I? Hold up!my shoes only cost me k15,so my whole outfit only cost me k17 lets take a minute and clap for Jesus 👏.This got me thinking about families with a lot of children that have torn clothes or a lot of other people who turn to stealing or looking hella scruffy.
Guys being broke should never be an excuse. There is so much that you can do to change your situation: go thrifting, visit charity shops or find smart ways to trade clothes with your friends. Just do something to better your situation, none of the examples given will cost you much. And when you put on those K3 or K5 items, you’ll be slaying so much no one will even know that you thrifted your outfit. Self-love is caring for your body and your appearance, you can slay on a budget too.
I hope you guys enjoyed this post. Please share your thoughts with me in the comment section.
Until Next time
Ciao Xoxo 😚
